Kitzbühel   Situated in Kitzbühel, a small town in the Tirol (Tyrol) province of German speaking Austria. This small town's population is only 10,000 and, at an elevation of 800 meters, is one of the most picturesque mountain towns of Europe. Kitzbühel is a world famous ski and holiday resort (World Cup Hahnenkamm downhill race and slalom) lying between Salzburg and Innsbruck, south of Munich, the capital of Bavaria, and west of Vienna. The surrounding majestic mountains invite hiking in summer/autumn and skiing in winter/spring. The history of Kitzbühel began in the 9th century BC with copper mining and commerce. In 1504 Kitzbühel became part of Tyrol.

 
  • DIT  A small family run school, founded in 1981, located in the world renowned ski center of Kitzbühel, Austria. Accredited by the governmental body Campus Austria as a language school of outstanding merit. Teachers are native German speakers from different parts of the German speaking world, and teaches Standard German (High German) without any regionalism.

    Salzburg   For many visitors, Salzburg represents the quintessential Austria, with its Baroque architecture, subalpine air, and an extraordinary musical heritage. Salzburg is situated in the heart of Europe surrounded by some of the finest countryside in the Alps. With 144,000 inhabitants, approximately 4,000 cultural events annually, and approximately 6.7 million visitors - the capital city of Salzburg is Austria's second most important tourist city, behind Vienna. They city is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birthplace (1756), and is also famous for its Salzburg Music Festival, founded in 1920. Salzburg has been distinguished by UNESCO as part of the "world's cultural and natural heritage" (Salzburg's old city) since January 1997.

     
  • Amadeus  A nonprofit organization which specializes in the instruction of German, the Amadeus is situated in the heart of the old town of Salzburg - next to the living place of the Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The teachers are university graduates who have been carefully selected for their ability to teach German as a foreign language. There are normally students from many different countries studying at any one time, creating a dynamic international community that naturally uses German as its common language.

  • Complete Immersion Homestudy Program  Private one-on-one tutor foreign language classes are provided by your teacher at your lodging. Teachers are highly trained professionals with years of experience in the teaching of their language to foreigners. Lodging is in homestays of native speakers with all meals provided. Only the target language is spoken in the homestay. Residences are typically outside of heavily touristed areas, in neighborhoods where the target language predominates.

    Vienna   Vienna, the capital of Austria and home to 2 million residents, is situated on the banks of the Danube. The influx of visitors from all over the world has made Vienna the most popular urban tourist destination in Austria. The city's location, not far from the splendors of Budapest and Prague, has made it a hotline to Eastern Europe, as well as a major center of modern business and cultural life. It is said that the most melodic German is spoken in the old city.

    Vienna is a romantic, imperial city. What was once the heart of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy is now what dreams are made of. Vienna is home to museums, exhibitions, theatres, concert halls, world famous State Opera, incredible architecture, the famous Viennese coffee houses, a diverse range of bars and clubs and a culinary diversity which includes delights such as semolina dumpling soup and apple strudel.

     
  • Vienna Academy  Vienna Academy, a private school specializing in language and culture studies, has been officially recognized by the Austrian government since 1988. The highest standard of language courses, combined with an attractive leisure program is offered. Teachers are native speakers of standard German, and they take genuine pleasure in working together with students. Their skills and knowledge are regularly upgraded at training courses required by the school.

  • University of Vienna  Since 1922 people from all continents, over 2500 participants annually, of different professions and age groups have come to the University of Vienna not only to learn German but also to get an insight into Austrian culture. Trained and experienced teachers work with modern teaching materials in multinational classes. While the emphasis of each course is the study of the German language, students also have the opportunity to attend optional conferences given by professors and lecturers of the University on literature, music, linguistics, history and politics.
