The school offers volunteer opportunities to their students. Two distinct programs are available:
1. Rural & Urban Community Volunteer Work Program
2. Homeless Shelter for Families Volunteer Work Program

Rural & Urban Community Volunteer Work Program
The Rural & Urban Community Volunteer Work Program is organized with a full-time delegation of staff members under which all volunteers work. Nine communities will be focused on every two weeks. Volunteers are assigned to a team, with each team being give a project within the community. Each volunteer team works with the intention to finish their given project in 2 weeks. Each community is revisited every 15 days. Volunteers are scheduled to work 5 days per week, Monday through Friday.
The usual daily schedule is as follows, but is subject to change:
Work 9.00-14.00(2:00PM) Lunch & Free Time 14.00(2:00PM)-16.00(4:00PM) Work 16.00(4:00PM)-19.00(7:00PM)
Participants have the option to stay in a homestay during their volunteer program. A single room and 2 meals daily (Monday - Saturday) is included in the cost. Participants may also arrange their own lodging if preferred, however, those under the age of 18 who are traveling alone are required to stay in the homestay.

General Objectives:
* To strengthen the community bonds that reinforces the organization and participation for the common good through the involvement of land and environmental conservation to improve the quality of life. * To strengthen community groups organizing for the common good, as many young adults and adults as children and adolescents. * To create a sense of awareness and action that forms a basis for positive participation in the assessment of the environment and natural resources. * To organize a dynamic learning program for the appropriation of the eco-technology. * To turn the hills of the Municipal of Querétaro into what they once were: a forest. * The rural communities of the Municipality of Querétaro to be clean, green with the abundance of the natural resources. * For the rural community families of the Municipality of Querétaro to enjoy good health and nutrition. * For the wild Fauna to multiply and be respected, and the native Flora to be abundant. * The livestock and agriculture production to be created with organic techniques for increased and better production. * The Pro-Environment activities to strengthened the community bonds, the participation of the common good, the involvement of the land and its conservation for the future generations.

Specific Areas of Work
There are several specific areas of volunteer work:
1. Environmental Education
* Objective o To train kids and adolescents by nourishing the development of their attitudes and abilities. * Plan of Action o The primary and secondary elected communities will be visited every 15 days according to schedule. * Work to be Done o Knowledge, analysis and awareness of environmental themes. o Games, songs & dynamics. o Movie programs. o Construction & maintenance of gardens and fences. o Reforestation. o Painting of schools and communities. o Evaluation course. o Cleaning campaigns and recuperation of recyclable materials in the schools and community. o Construction of the Lorena Stove for Cooking classes. o Collection of water in school ceilings. o Mother Earth events and celebrations. o Awareness hikes. o Organization of brigades and committees. o Teachers and paternal deeds. o All other activities that favors the fulfillment of the primary objective.
2. Community & Environmental Improvement
* Objective o To exchange knowledge, abilities and experiences that create action for the common good. * Plan of Action o Exchange of knowledge and analysis within the theme of support. o Participation of the residents and solution-based conflict resolution * Work to be Done o Manual work training. o Healthy cooking and baking. o Alternative medication. o Eco-techniques for daily living (Lorena stove, Flotra Laundry room, Collection and water storage, road cementing, recuperation of recyclable materials, donation center, solar heaters, biodynamic horticulture, hen-houses, rabbit hutches, paints and water resistant coatings, latrines, ground compression, wells, domestic reforestation, food preservation, etc.). o Games, songs and dynamics o Movie programs o Community cleaning operation o All other activities that favors the fulfillment of the primary objective.
3. Eco-Food Production
* Objective o To offer alternative food production to improve the quality of life. o To preserve and increase the natural resources. * Plan of Action o To obtain appropriation techniques and procedures for complete advantage or use of the natural resources and its permanent application. * Work to be Done o Eco-technique training. o Organic food production training. o Reforestation.
Requirements:
* Minimum age of 14 years. * Intermediate level of Spanish Language (Can understand and converse well in the present tense; some knowledge of the future and past tense). * Introduction letter and resume (if over the age of 18). * Minimum 6 weeks total program. (Complete beginners are required to enroll in Spanish language study for a minimum of 4 weeks prior to volunteering, making the total program length 8 weeks.) o Minimum 2 weeks Spanish Language study prior to volunteering. Students may choose to enroll for study in any of the school's Spanish programs. o Minimum 4 weeks volunteer work 8 hours daily, Mon-Fri after Spanish study. * A willingness to be of service, to be open to learning as well as teaching, and to ask when in doubt. * A willingness and the ability to do physical work and "get dirty". * To show respect for the community standard and tradition. * To abide by the instructions and decisions of the project leader. * To abide by school regulations.

2. Mail or fax your registration form to NRCSA along with a resume (if over the age of 18) and an introduction letter describing yourself, your Spanish level and the area of volunteer work you're interested in. Homeless Shelter for Families Volunteer Work Program
Puente de la Esperanza, an organization run by nuns, directs the Homeless Shelter for Families Volunteer Work Program. Volunteers live and work onsite at the shelter which is located in a large house and has nine rooms designated for volunteer participants. Rooms accommodate 2 to 3 participants each.
Boarding and all meals are free of charge for those who work full-time at the shelter, 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, and commitment of a minimum of 4 weeks. Volunteer work can be arranged for less than 4 weeks at the shelter, however, participants must arrange for their own accommodation and students under the age of 18 are required to stay in a homestay.
