The teaching method place specific emphasis on language for communication through its multimedia approach, striving to bring language to life for its students. Students learn vocabulary and structure, progressing from basic to advanced conversational ability. This structural/functional approach naturally teaches the structure and grammar of the language in order for the student to absorb it through practical usage. All instruction is given in Bahasa Indonesia, and most classes have different teachers to ensure that the student does not become overly accustomed to one voice or accent. The methodology stresses “practice until mastery is achieved,” encouraging practice in the target language so that the student may speak Bahasa Indonesia clearly, fluently and with a correct accent.
Courses are taught using the immersion method, which is considered to be the most effective form of language acquisition. Language lessons can be taken for varying number of hours per week, with 20 hours per week being the standard program, especially if you are going for more than eight weeks.
There are different types of language programs to fit all types of educational needs. With regards to the program, all language levels are accepted, from beginner to advanced, and your exact level is determined by a placement test to make sure we put you in the right class. Students are given an evaluation exam upon arrival and are placed in the appropriate level. Depending on the student's interest, he or she may take general language classes, workshops, skill classes and electives. Local extracurricular activities and excursions are also an important part of the program, and conducted in the local language, as well.
One of the unique things about the NRCSA's program is the ability to combine language classes with an extensive choice of cultural courses. In addition to language classes, we also include cultural and social events programming in the afternoons for students to interact with each other and learn more about the host country.
Count on our small classes and international mix of students in bright and modern facilities. University-trained, qualified teachers, and a professional curriculum ensure you make the most of your time. Whether you wish to study short or long term, we have the program for you!

Standard Bahasa Indonesia Program
The Standard Bahasa Indonesia Program makes use of the integrated approach to language acquisition. It consists of four hours per day, Monday through Friday, of Spanish language study in a group setting with a maximum of eight students per class. Breaks are scheduled outside of teaching hours. Classes include general Bahasa Indonesia courses as well as communicative workshops for a total of 24 lessons weekly. The small class size helps students receive individualized attention, allowing for maximum contact with both the Bahasa Indonesia language as well as the culture.
Private Bahasa Indonesia Classes 20 hours per week. Get the most intensive Bahasa Indonesia course available with the Tutor program. All Indonesian courses are delivered in private tutorial sessions (individual or small group/family). Private instruction allows for highly specialized and customized language training. Each course can be entirely tailored to clients’ needs and adapted to their rate of progress. Students are taught in a one-on-one setting with a private tutor for maximum immersion. This program is ideal for business professionals or anyone who has a tight schedule and/or specific needs.
Learning to communicate in Indonesian requires more than attending general Bahasa Indonesia language classes. Achieving linguistic aims in the shortest possible time requires that language instruction be personalized – i.e. “individual.” The private tutorial is a particularly beneficial setting for language learning, as it allows a private instructor who understands the needs of her or his client(s) to tailor the training methods, material and pacing to meet those specific needs.
This can be attained relatively quickly with the undivided attention of a private teacher rather than a general classroom setting. Classes are small with a maximum of four students, often with an average of only two or three students in a class, depending on the time of year. This small class size assures you of maximum opportunities for participation as well as individual attention from the teacher.

Materials The texts utilized by our teachers include a homework book for each ability level, a verb book and a vocabulary book. They were designed by the center director, Ms. Maria Babiak along with a team of our teachers and are continually being improved. Teachers also use a plethora of didactic materials and supplements, such as grammatical practice exercises, current readings, guided dialogues, newspapers, selected audios, videos and songs. All class materials are included in the cost of the course. Students may also purchase copies of books, dictionaries and guides recommended by the teacher. Alternatively, students may also borrow the books from the school on deposit.
Teachers LSI’s “product” is its faculty! Given this fact, the organization devotes more time and effort to the recruitment and development of world-class Bahasa Indonesia language tutors than it does any other aspect of its operation. All of our instructors are multilingual native speakers with university educations and are very experienced teaching Bahasa Indonesia to international students. They hail from some of the most prestigious universities in Indonesia and hold advanced degrees specializing in Bahasa Indonesia , applied linguistics and language acquisition. In addition, our teachers are required to graduate from LSI’s ‘Teacher Education Program for Bahasa Indonesia Studies’ training course facilitated by Ms. Babiak as well as the campus academic coordinator before joining the faculty.
Ms. Babiak maintains excellent teaching standards by encouraging teachers to receive additional training so that they may continue developing their teaching skills. Throughout their tenures, they are expected to attend Indonesian school conferences and pursue opportunities for professional development. Most have learned a second language themselves and understand the student's perspective. They are devoted to helping students best reach their goals and to keeping the classes enjoyable and entertaining.
Teachers use both proven traditional techniques as well as the latest teaching innovations. LSI’s careful selection process and ongoing development programs ensure that clients receive the highest level of professional, friendly and helpful service from an Indonesian tutor with solid teaching skills.
