Programs

Methology
- Priority in verbal communication: Express yourself with a maximum of ease and therefore gain in autonomy. Verbal communication based on real situations also allows you to cover written expression, grammar and vocabulary.

- Groups with a maximum of 10 people: Exchanges between speakers are guaranteed and the teacher can personalize his course according to the level, demands and progression of each student.

- A selection of pedagogical methods: the best and the most adapted to each situation in class are chosen from the methods available. The diversity encourages exchanges: debates, presentations, role plays, exercises in written expression, essays, simulations on the telephone.

- Authentic material used in the classes: the press, documentaries, audio extracts, illustrations, songs, advertising, Internet extracts etc, and allows a concrete approach to living French.

- A Multimedia Resource Center with learning aids: methods for learning French on CD-ROM, exercise books, French films, a selection from the press, French songs on CD, board games, etc, are at your disposal to complement your course.

- Preparation in parallel for certificates and tests: You can prepare for the DELF (Diplôme d’Etude de Langue Française) at the school or do the TCF (Test de Connaissance du Français) on request.

- European standards are taken into account: Organization of the groups, placement tests and the certificates presented at the end of the course are based on the Common European Framework of Reference of the Council of Europe.

Orientation:

The orientation is held during your fist week of the program and is designed to provide students with important information about immigration, law of the countries, and the services offered by the school. The orientation program also introduces you to the educational and cultural atmosphere and provide an opportunity to meet other students.

First Day:
With regards to the program, all levels of the language are accepted, from complete beginner to advanced, and your exact level is determined by a placement test to make sure we put you in the right class. One of the unique things about the NRSCA program is the ability to combine the language classes with an extensive choice of culture classes. In addition to the language classes, we also include our culture and social events program in the afternoons for students to interact with other student and learn about the culture.

 

Programs

Standard French Course - 15 lessons per week Available for students at any level, beginning to advanced. Each lesson has a duration of 60 minutes. The courses take place in the morning, Monday-Friday. Self study in the multimedia learning center is available for all students, as are learning resources of all kinds: audio, video, and computer assisted language learning. These elements are all available for students to work independently.

Intensive French Course - 25 lesson per week Available for students at any level, beginning to advanced. General French lessons in the mornings and theme workshops in the afternoons to broaden your knowledge: French civilization, conversation, creative workshops, activities outside the institute, phonetics, games, etc.

- Extend knowledge of French politics, social life and culture
- Reinforce learning using theme workshops, creativity, games and multimedia

Combine French Course and Tutor - 15 group classes and 5 private classes
Standard French Course in the mornings allowing you to make the most of group interaction, and tailor-made courses in the afternoons to work on points of your choice.

- Communicate in everyday situations
- Extend knowledge of French politics, social life and culture
- Further study of specific language points as a function of personal and professional needs

 

Admissions & Academic Credit

Students age 17 years and older are welcome regardless of educational background, occupation or nationality. No previous knowledge of French is required except where otherwise indicated.

Students seeking credit for study should check with their home school before registering. Generally, U.S. schools consider 15 hours of study to be equal to 1 semester credit.

Certificates

A school certificate will be issued to students provided he/she has attended the course regularly. The certificate describes quite precisely level of language competence the student has reached in language training in the following areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
