The Programs

Programs

In our center, we have analyzed foreigner's Japanese language lives. We are developing a specific program for those living and learning Japanese in Japan. The main goal of this program is to develop and master communication skills, which cope with any types of situation, which might occur in Japan in their daily lives, without losing their own original identity.

Keeping motivation levels high is a basic denominator in the design of our teaching program. We maintain a high level of motivation as our key to effective learning.

Our instructors are not only professionally certified, but go through an ongoing program of teachers training in areas of cultural understanding, transactional analysis, student coaching, developmental communication skills, etc. These professional training modules allow our instructors to effectively manage individual and group learning.

Basic Course

Group classes of 15 hours per week for 3 or 4 weeks. The average class has 4-10 students.

Courses Contents:

· Writing & Reading
· Basic grammar
· Daily conversations

Course schedule is from 13:00 – 16:00 or 16:30 – 19:30

Summer Course

Group classes of 15 hours per week for 3 or 4 weeks. The average class has 4-10 students.

Courses Contents:

· Writing & Reading
· Basic grammar
· Daily conversations

Course Schedule:
10:00-12:50 (Three 50-minute lessons per day)

General Term

Group classes of 20 hours per week, 200 hours per term. From Monday-Friday, Four classes per day (50 min. each) The average class has 4-10 students.

Courses Contents:

· Basic grammar
· Daily conversations

Note: we will not be able to guarantee the classes time upon arrival.

First Day:

With regards to the program, all levels of the language are accepted, from complete beginner to advanced, and your exact level is determined by a placement test to make sure we put you in the right class. One of the unique things about the NRSCA program is the ability to combine the language classes with an extensive choice of culture classes. In addition to the language classes, we also include our culture and social events program in the afternoons for students to interact with other student and learn about the culture.

Orientation:

NRCSA program will held an Orientation session locally. The orientation designed to provide students with important information about immigration, law of the countries, and the services offered by the school. The orientation program also helps you to acquaint to the educational and cultural atmosphere and provide an opportunity to meet other students.

Visa
You may study Japanese for a short term (maximum 6 months) with a short-stay visa. Requirements for obtaining a short-stay visa vary depending on your nationality. Please contact the Japanese embassy in your country for details.

 

Levels


■ LEVELS : 1
This class is for those who are studying Japanese for the first time. The class will study grammar and expressions that come up in basic conversations encountered in everyday life. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to use Japanese in situations such as asking for directions, going shopping and ordering at restaurants. The course will cover situations where you need to ask questions and make requests. This class is ideal for complete beginners.


■ LEVELS : 2
This class is targeted towards those who have studied Japanese between 80 and 150 hours,
or towards those who have stayed in Japan for more than three months. This class will review and develop grammar that has already been studied (such as basic verbs and adjectives). The aim is not only to be able to get the message across, but to become proficient in using language that is appropriate to the person being spoken to. After completing this course, you will be able to confidently hold conversations about topics such as your own experiences, your family etc.
* This class is suited to those who can read and write hiragana and katakana.

■ LEVELS : 3
This class is targeted towards those who have studied Japanese between 150 and 300 hours, or towards those have stayed in Japan for more than six months. In this class, as well as reviewing basic sentence patterns, more complicated situations will be studied such as expressions to use at the hospital or on the telephone. This class will aim to produce proficiency in using expressions relating to slightly more complicated sentiments such as doki-doki, waku-waku and other onomatopoeic words that often come up in manga.
*This class is suited to those who can read and write hiragana and katakana.


■ LEVELS : 4
This class is targeted towards those who have studied Japanese between 300 and 600 hours, or towards those who have covered the material in a Japanese beginners textbook. The emphasis in this course will primarily be in practicing oral skills and it is ideal for those who are happy with the concepts in basic grammar but would like to practice using them in conversation. After completing this course, you will be proficient in distinguishing between similar grammar constructs and knowing when and how to use them.
*This class is suited to those who can read between 200 and 300 kanji.


■ LEVELS : 5
This class is targeted towards those who have studied Japanese between 600 and 800 hours (JLPT Level 2 standard), or towards those who have stayed in Japan for over one year. The goal will mainly be to increase the variety of expressions available to students. *This course is ideal for ·those who can communicate what they want to but find it difficult to find the most natural expressions.
·those who would like to learn how to find different expressions that depend on the person being spoken to and the situation.
After completing this course you will be able to communicate effectively with proper consideration to the relationship between you and the listener.
*This class is suitable for those who can read between 400 and 500 kanji.


 

Admissions & Academic Credit

All interested adults who have completed high school or equivalency, and are age 17 or older are welcome to participate in the program.

Students desiring credit for their study program should contact their home school or request the NRCSA Credit Fact Sheet. Generally, U.S. universities consider 15 hours of study to be equal to 1 semester credit.

We want the application process to be clear and easy.

1. Make sure you meet the minimum requirements! Many of our programs do not require previous language study or GPA. Please call me at 1-888-678-6211 ask for Vanessa (for further questions)

2. – Make sure that your school will accept the credit for the program you have chosen. We strongly suggest that you make an appointment with your school’s study abroad advisor.

We now offer U.S. academic credit through our consortium of universities, for our Japanese study abroad program in Japan -- so that is definitely an option for you

3. Here is the list of classes, If you decide to take the credit I will need an official Transcript from your last University and the course that you will like to take

Japanese 101 Beginner, First semester, 100 class hours, 4 credits of instructional contact hours of beginning level study at institution abroad, including both grammar review and conversation practice

Japanese 102 - Beginner, Second semester, 100 class hours, 4 credits. Continuing beginning level study at institution abroad, including both grammar review and conversation practice

Japanese 201 - Intermediate, 3rd semester, 50 class hours, 3 credits. Intermediate level study at institution abroad, including both grammar review and conversation practice.

Japanese 202 - Intermediate 4th semester, 50 class hours, 3 credits. Reiterates the grammar learned in previous courses, using it at a higher level of structure. The course focuses on reading and writing skills, to promote critical thinking when creating composition.


 

Arrival Information

Tokyo (Narita) Arrival and departure transfer from and to the Narita airport is available upon request and at additional cost.
