German Standard or Intensive & Internship Program Vienna, Austria

Our Program
German language courses in combination with internship.
The program consists of two stages:
First, the German language preparation course in Vienna.
Second, work experience in a carefully selected Austrian company for one month to one year.
This program is available for students from the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland for paid and unpaid internships; and students from non-EU member states & all other countries for unpaid internships only.

Minimum duration 8 weeks: 4 weeks' German language course (Standard or Intensive) + 4 weeks' work experience.

Maximum duration: as long as your visa is valid. Average is 12 weeks: 4 weeks' German language course + 8 weeks' work experience

Preferably between 18 - 30 years old (Older students often accepted).
|
|
| |
•
Good command of German (Intermediate level - minimum two/three years university level study and/or four years+ high school study). Beginning students may be accepted but minimum German course work prior to internship will be longer (for complete beginner students, generally at least three months German study prior to internship is required).

Insurance documents must be produced upon arrival (proof of E111/121 insurance for EU citizens or private insurance coverage). THIS IS INCLUDED IN COURSE FEES THROUGH NRCSA FOR DATES OF STUDY AND IS EXTENDIBLE TO COVER INTERNSHIP DATES

German Language PreparationCourse: 20 + 5 lessons/week. Fees cover four/six lessons tuition per day plus five lessons per week devoted to the cultural program. Standard, Intensive course.

InternshipStudents may choose from the sectors listed below. We will accommodate preferences as far as possible. Please note that the position offered is likely to be influenced by the applicant's previous work experience, education and his/her level of German. Employment location: Most of the job placements offered are in Vienna, Salzburg, or tourist resorts in the Alps.

Manual and art trades: carpenter, mechanics, etc.

Conditions of Employment - For non-EU citizens, your job placement is unpaid, but you can gain valuable experience and perfect your German. Many employers offer meals at subsidized prices or a free travel pass for public transport. Working hours: approx. 20-40 hours per week, according to interest.

To apply for German and Internship Program, fill out the Preregistration Form on-line and submit on-line or mail including the deposit of $140 US.

Once preliminarily accepted into the program, you will need to MAIL:

Your Curriculum Vitae/Resume in German OR English, typewritten.
|
|
| |

3 photos of yourself, preferably passport sized.
|
|
| |
•
A completed application form for employment (*This will be mailed to you upon preliminary acceptance into the program) .
|
|

Your application papers must be received a minimum of 9 weeks before the start of work experience. We will confirm receipt of your application. Our confirmation will also include information on the Telephone interview between student and Placement Officer. You will need to call the Placement Officer within 5 days of receiving our confirmation.

Allocation/Final Placement

Your job confirmation is generally available 4 weeks before commencement of employment. It includes precise details of your workplace, starting time and conditions. You will then call or arrange an interview with your employer and sign the job confirmation.
