Lodging & Arrival Information - Hamburg, Germany  


 

Lodging

Homestay lodging is where students stay with carefully selected German families. This is the best way of practicing the language and learning about the German way of living. Accommodations are in apartments or homes. Some of the homestays are located in the city center, while others are located on the outskirts.. Homestay are either with a family or a single person.

All homestays are in good residential areas throughout the city and can be reached easily by public transport (generally within 15-20 minutes). Bed linens and towels are provided, as well as use of the washing machine. Homestays commence on the Sunday before the beginning of the course and finish on the Saturday after the final day. One extra night is charged on top of the weekly price. Breakfast is included daily, or 2 meals daily is available at an additional cost.

School Residence Students can optionally stay in the student residence which is located in the main school building.. There is a minimum stay of 1 month for this option. The residence is made up of apartment units and can be booked as a single, double or triple. There are no meals included with lodging in the residence. Each unit is equipped with a complete kitchen, a bathroom, a TV, and a telephone. Bed linens and towels are included, and a laundry is located nearby.
Boarding House 'Hohenfelde' For those students who prefer more independence; accommodations can be arranged at the Hohenfelde Boarding House. The Hohenfelde is at a first-class location near the lake 'Außenalster', approximately 15 minutes from the school by public transport. There is a minimum stay of 1 month for this option. Each unit has two rooms and includes half-board (breakfast plus cold dinner). Every room has its own shower, toilet, kitchenette, and telephone. Bed linens and towels are included, and use of the washing machine. Students need to arrive at the Boarding House by Friday before 12:00.

 

Arrival Information

Arrival transfer from the airport is available upon request and at an additional cost. Lodging information is sent 7 - 14 days prior to departure. Information of where to go and how to get there will be sent to students prior to departure.
