Spanish Language & Culture in Malaga, Spain

About the NRCSA Center

Our School

Malaca Instituto strives to combine the highest academic performance and instruction quality with the most pleasant atmosphere. The intensive studies, the special pupil-teacher rapport, the frequent parties and various other out-of-school activities combine to make the student's stay an unforgettable experience. Founded over 25 years ago, the school is now widely recognized to be one of the best language schools in Spain. The school prides itself on having their own highly effective teaching system, which results in all students making excellent progress.

The school uses an integrated, communicative teaching system using its own books, resulting in rapid progress. As you would expect of a serious school, great emphasis is placed on the selection and training of teachers. They look for lively, well-educated, interesting people who will be capable of motivating all their students. They must be native speakers of Spanish and have a university degree. They must also participate in an intensive in-house training program which covers general teaching techniques as well as all the course materials and specific methods that the school uses. In addition, the trainees observe lessons given by senior instructors and are in turn supervised by the senior teachers.

The school is housed in excellent, multi-purpose facilities with on-site accommodation, study and recreational facilities. Twenty well-equipped classrooms of different sizes are utilized for Intensive, Mini-Group or private lessons. Each classroom is equipped with comfortable classroom furniture and blackboards. The Self-Access Centre is an excellent new facility created to help students practice and revise individually identified areas of weakness or specific need. It is equipped with video and audio materials, worksheets, graded readers and reference books. The school has 3 video rooms for showing prerecorded videos which are integrated into the teaching program. In addition, the school also has a 10-booth fully interactive Tandberg Language Laboratory which is used for intensive listening practice. High quality radio/cassette recorders are available for use in the classrooms. The school's cinema is used for showing Spanish-version feature films in the evenings.

About Malaga

Malaga is the capital of the Costa del Sol, with a population of about 450,000. Its situation, first-class tourist attractions, constant blue sky and Mediterranean Sea, warm hospitality, folklore, mild climate and wide variety of night sports and restaurants make Malaga an ideal setting for spending your time learning Spanish and enjoying yourself. Located at the heart of Andalucía, Málaga has excellent transportation connections with Granada, Seville, Córdoba etc. The Málaga International Airport is only 20 minutes drive from the school.

In Málaga you will learn pure Spanish (Castillian) not a mixture of Spanish and Catalán, Basque or Valenciano!. You will eat pella and Gazpacho, you will drink Rioja and Sangria, listen to flamenco and Falla and Dance Sevillanas.
