Programs & Activities - Vejer de la Frontera, Spain

Programs

The school's team of professionals help students feel at home in the Spanish culture, learn to speak Spanish correctly, and be able to use the language in everyday situations. The teachers' goal is to help the student intensively develop his/her reading, writing and speaking skills in a friendly atmosphere. Rather than passively receiving lectures, the students actively participate in the classroom learning experience. The school has done away with hard-and-fast subject divisions so that grammar, vocabulary, and culture are all learned in their natural combination by listening and speaking.

Spanish language study is offered at 4 levels: beginner, intermediate, upper-intermediate and advanced. For a complete level description, please click here.

Teaching materials utilized include:
  •   Books: The school uses some of the most up-to-date textbooks on the market, especially those that are based on the communicative method.
  •   Video: The use of videos in foreign-language classes introduces the students to situational forms of communication and different accents.
  •   Audio: Likewise, radio broadcasts, exercises with songs, and recordings of real conversations can be of assistance to the students.
  •   Slides: The use of this kind of graphic medium is important for the culture and civilization classes to illustrate the world that surrounds the Spanish language.
  •   Transparencies: Ideal for the theoretical part of the class, such as grammar structures or lexical fields.

In addition to the class schedule, students may seek individual help during the teachers' office hours.

Spanish & Flamenco
This Spanish & Flamenco program enables you to combine a Spanish course with the discovery of the world of Flamenco. This unique program offers exciting hands-on dance classes, meaningful cultural immersion, and an enriching language program.

In our school we could not do without one of the most important Hispanic cultural aspects: flamenco. Vejer is within the geographic location in which this hundred year old art form was born.

Because of this, the NRCSA center in Vejer offers a unique program in which the participants combine a Spanish course with practical dance classes or Spanish guitar. To complete this offer, we also organize weekly lessons of rhythmic clapping (palmas) and flamenco percussion.

Program includes 10 classes of dance or guitar and 2 classes of palmas and percussion in the 2 week program.

Summer Teen Program

This summer course takes place in a separate building and is designed for 13 to 17 year olds. It offers them the chance to study Spanish in a safe environment near some of Spainīs most beautiful beaches.

Christmas Course
2 weeks, 16 Spanish lessons per week + cultural activities. The center offers a special 2 week Christmas Course for those who would like to spend the holidays learning the Spanish language and Spanish cultural traditions of the season. The course includes 16 lessons per week of Spanish language study plus cultural activities.
